A reminiscence of London Tower Bridge, the latest attraction in Kuala Terengganu is really an eye-catching to many. The 15-storey tall structure is no ordinary building, but the new icon and landmark for the state. Certainly Terengganu Drawbridge is a new wonder in town.

Officiated last year, the hi-tech bridge is not only outstanding in its technology, it’s also beautiful in its appearance. The draw bridge – like its name suggests – able to ‘fold’ its bridge if needed, which is also the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. Not only that, the bridge houses a gallery and an observer zone for visitors to enjoy the view. There are 2 ways to enjoy the landmark which can fit in 70 to 80 visitors at one time. The first is to pay a visit to the venue itself. It opens from 10am to 10pm every day, except for a short break on Friday.

The view is marvellous. You can admire the whole city of Kuala Terengganu, or the changing colours of the horizon, depending on the time of the day. Pick your 360° direction, and do not forget to take your best angle of photo. If you need some quiet entertainment, spend some time in the gallery and watch in awe the drawings on display by local artists. Or if you brave enough, try to enjoy the glass-floor view which makes you feel like floating in the air. So far only South Tower is in operation. Soon, the other tower will sit a restaurant for you to enjoy some delicious meals just 12.5 meters above sea-level.

And that is just not the only option. The second one is more relax and better, if you are afraid of height. Terengganu Drawbridge can equally be enjoyed by afar, as its stunning view made a good insta update. With its beautiful lighting and calming waters, there are many venues to take your family pictures against the beautiful backdrop.

One favourite spot is from the field area in Seberang Takir, or from Tanjung on the other side. Just admire the 638-meter gigantic bridge fills the horizon, while you’re having the famous local delicacy keropok nearby.
