Yes, when you sign up for the homestay program, you will be assigned a foster parent, although having said that there are independent operators who will rent out empty houses and call it homestay, although these are not recognized by the Ministry of Tourism. By Tourism Malaysia standards, homestay programmes will always have foster parents assigned to you.
