Born in this fascinating town in the fifties, I am so keen to go further to find out more of the history of this town. Could somebody kind enough to provide me a couple of photos, ie., Yau Tet Shin Round Bazaar, Outpatient Department of Ipoh old GH, and Kg Simee plus Ipoh New Town in the old days? How old was the old Ipoh GH? You could send your kind feedback and photos to patrickteh.tk@gmail.com. Thank you

Being Ipoh born & bred I enjoyed reading the article naturally. I was actually born in 1944 in a shop house across the street from the Jubliee Cabaret which is part of the Jubilee Park complex. I lived in that shop house on Brewster Road until I was about 13. In the interest of accuracy I wish to make a correction: the Jubliee Park was not located in Kuala Kangsar Road. It was in fact located on Brewster Rd. & Cowan St. (I don't know what those streets are called now).

This is a great article and a must read for anyone who is visiting Malaysia and wants to visit somewhere with a lot of heritage and potential.

I say potential because Ipoh should be a top destination in Malaysia but it isn't. One of the reasons is that two many people are getting involved in the development of the destination.

I wrote an article about branding Ipoh. I hope you don't mind but the link is here http://brandconsultantasia.wordpress.com/2010/06/21/how-to-brand-a-city-like-ipoh/

Feel free to comment or make suggestions. And next time you are in Malaysia, go to Ipoh!
